Wayne Olan Johnson, 67, of Bridge City, died Friday, December 14, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Harold Nazworth and Reverend Bailey Harris.
Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home Bridge City.
Wayne was born on May 15, 1940, in Broaddus, TX. He was the son of C.R. ?Shorty? Johnson and Winnie Hutto Johnson Raymond. He worked for Local #125 in Nederland as an iron worker and was a member of Texas State Guard-Company B in Orange. He was also a member of Old First Orange Church. Mr. Johnson loved to squirrel hunt and fish and was alsoan avid Dallas Cowboys Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-Law, William Cherry.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Johnson of Bridge City; son, Jefferey Johnson of Beaumont; grandchild, Joshua Johnson of Bridge City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan Dean and Orville of Springtown, Virginia Williams and Harold of Orange, and Norma Benuit and Michael of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, John Raymond and Joy of Brandon Manitoba, Canada; mother-in-law, Murline Cherry of Pettus; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Denning of Pettus and Ola Greene of Corpus Christi; bother-in-law Dell Cherry and Lynn of Brownsville; and nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Russell Dean, Ryan Dean, Ross Lindsey, J.C. McCoy, Kip McJunkins, and Ray McJunkins.
Honorary pallbearers are Craig Lindsey, Jon McCoy, Kenneth Gage, Adam Axford, and Colton Cherry.
