W. E. Osberg

Memorial services for Dr. Wilfred "Ossie" Edwin Osberg, Jr., 86 of Beaumont, will be held Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at New Life Church on the Rock in Vidor. Pastor Kenneth Woolf will officiate.
Dr. Osberg was born May 2, 1923 in Struthers, OH to Louise and W.E. Osberg, Sr. and passed away August 5, 2009 in Beaumont. He served on the Air-Sea Rescue Squadron in the Navy during WWII. For many years, he bowled at the Village Lanes in Beaumont. He played golf and shot his age at 79 and 80. He was an active bridge player at the Beaumont Bridge Studio and participated in various tournaments.
Dorothy Lee Osberg, his wife for over 54 years, preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are children: Gary and Charlene Osberg; Richard and Brenda Osberg; Jeff and Erin Osberg; Mike and Lisa Osberg, and Cathy and John Codding; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who knew him as Pop-Pop.
In lieu of flowers, cards, remembrances or memorial contributions to New Life Church on the Rock Youth Ministry or Hillvue Heights Baptist Church may be sent c/o Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home, 1155 N. 11th St.; Beaumont, TX 77702.
