A Life Remembered

Obituary

Wieslaw “Wesley” Ferdinand Prokop

Wesley Prokop, born on December 25, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas.

Wesley was a devoted Chicago sports fan, cheering passionately for his beloved teams. He took immense pride in his heritage, being the eldest son of the eldest son of the Prokop family in Poland. A true connoisseur, he was a chocolate lover and a wicked cook, finding joy in recipes and the culinary wisdom of Julia Child. Wesley was a proud alumnus of Loyola University of Chicago, where he earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees.

Wesley was the son of Czeslaw "Chester" and Michalina "Wanda" Prokop and the husband to the late Susan Prokop. He was the loving father of Alexander "Alex" Prokop and the cherished grandfather, or "Dziadziu," to Kentlee and Christopher Prokop. He is survived by his sisters, Diane Asaro and her husband, Joseph, and Eva Prokop-Callahan and her husband, Dennis. Wesley was a beloved brother-in-law to Patti, (the late) Robert, Donna Joseph, and Gerald and their spouses. He was also a proud godfather to Elizabeth Bramley (Scott), and a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews, their spouses, and their children. Wesley will be fondly remembered by his cousins, Richard, (the late) Robert, Christopher, (the late) Grace, Lily, Adam, Marek, Renee, and their families.

There will be a visitation for friends and family, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home, 800 Highland Dr., Bridge City, TX 77611, beginning at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, 495 Roundbunch Rd., Bridge City, TX 7761.
