Whitney Joseph Boudreaux, 88, of Vinton, Louisiana, and a former resident of Orange, died Friday, February 13, 2009, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with the Reverend Marv Howland, officiating.
Burial, with military honors, will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Boudreaux was born in Orange on August 15, 1920, the son of Peter Joseph and Edith Melancon Boudreaux.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He was a life member of the V.F.W., American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Boudreaux was a graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He retired from the American Bridge Division of U.S. Steel, where he was a steel buyer.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Louise Boudreaux, he is survived by his wife, Lester Boudreaux of Vinton; daughter, Patricia L. Boudreaux Wallace and her husband, Alfred, of Orange; son, Whitney Joseph Boudreaux, Jr., Lt. Col, USAF, retired, and his wife, Carolyn, of San Antonio; step children, Charles Calcote and his wife, Glenda, of DeRidder, Louisiana, Gary Calcote and his wife, Dawn, of Rosepine, Louisiana and Gregory Calcote, also of DeRidder.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Pamela Ruth Southwood, Kellynn J. Priest, Christopher Michael Boudreaux; great grandchildren, Yvonne LeBrun, Joshua Dorman, Emily Southwood, Martin Southwood and great great grandchildren, Jacob Dorman, Brielle LeBrun and Bryan LeBrun.
