Funeral services for Wiley Homer Brown, St., will be held Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Sabine Tabernacle with Reverend Clarence Day officiating. Interment will follow at forest Lawn memorial park, Beaumont. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service.
Mr. Brown was born October 18, 1921 in Fannett, TX to John Henry and Minerva Carr Brown and passed away January 10, 2012 in Beaumont, TX. For the past several years, Homer required his family to take him to the old Fannett homestead and woods where he grew up.
Wiley was an infantryman in the US Army during World War II, serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaigns. He received a Purple Heart for his wounds that also caused a permanent disability and his honorable discharge from the Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita E. Brown, his parents; brothers, Hilton, K.B. and Carl Brown; sisters, Hazel garner and Thelma Burrell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Wiley Homer Brown, Jr. and wife Pat, of Beaumont; two granddaughters, Paige and Robin Brown of Katy, TX; sister, Vivian Powell of Moss Bluff, LA; sister-in-law, Juanita Brown of Nederland and numerous nieces and nephews.
