Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

William Carl Brimm, 70, of Orange, Texas died on September 25th after suffering a massive stroke. Bill was born to Dorothy and John Wesley Brimm on January 12, 1953, in Port Arthur, Texas. The youngest of four, Bill enlivened the lives of his siblings through pranks, sarcasm, picking, and ‘brotherly love’. From the time he could walk, he preferred outside to inside, and spent any free time fishing, hunting, or climbing to the tops of trees and church roofs (much to his mother’s dismay). Bill attended Little Cypress High School where he played football, ran track…and may have occasionally relocated teachers’ cars with the help of his friends.
The summer before his junior year, Bill met a cute girl at youth camp, and when their paths crossed again his senior year, it was the beginning of a love story that spanned 5 decades. He and Judy built a life founded on faith, friendship, devotion, and love. Like every endeavor in his life, Bill fully embraced the role of husband, father, and later, grandfather. Whether pulling kids on water skis, giving tractor rides, fishing, shooting, or building something, Bill spent hours investing in the interests and lives of those around him without complaint. He worked as a Process Operator at a local chemical plant for 42 years and served as a Deacon for 49 years, with 35 of those being at Liberty Baptist Church.

His passion was serving others, and whether he was working the land, tending to cows, having coffee with Judy, or affectionately calling those he loved “brat,” he always sought out ways to bless those around him. His trucks, trailers, tractors, lawn mowers, home, and even pocket mints, were all tools he used to meet the needs of others.

In death, Bill is reunited with his parents. Those left to remember him include Judy Armstrong Brimm, his wife of 50 years, children Jennifer (William) Hill, John (Kate) Brimm, 6 grandchildren, siblings John Wesley (Sheri) Brimm, Betty (Al) Farwell, and Edith (Danny) Passmore, brother-in-law James Burch, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1st from 1:00-3:00pm at Liberty Baptist Church (2717 W Round Bunch Rd, Bridge City, TX 77611) with the service following immediately at 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church lawnmower fund (because you know Bill loved to mow) or the charity of your choice (Liberty Baptist Church Mailing Address: PO BOX 851, Bridge City, TX 77611)

Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Ware, Shane Stankus, Nathan Romine, Aaron Norman, Kenneth Smith, and Jerome Milam.
