Obituary
William Carswell, 68, of Orange, passed away on April 1, 2022, at St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Jared Hollier of Pecan Acres Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery in Vidor.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., Sunday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Lufkin, Texas, on November 3, 1953, he was the son of Gabriel and Erma Carswell. William loved spending time outside and wasn’t afraid to work hard and have fun. He enjoyed camping and working with his dozer. William raised cattle and adored watching old westerns. He also made sure to take advantage of any classic car shows he could attend. William was a long time member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church. He was so loved by friends and family, and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Carswell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mattie Sue Carswell; his stepchildren, George Fox of Orange, Dennis Fox and wife Angie of Orangefield; grandchildren, George William Fox, Tyler Frederick; great-grandchildren, Brodie Lavere; siblings, Gary Carswell and wife Cindy, Tommy Carswell and wife Mercedes, Randy Carswell and wife Katrina, and Tammy Hampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
