William "Bill" G. Collins, 80, lifelong resident of Bridge City passed away, Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 2, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend David Green of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City.
A gathering of friends will begin an hour prior to the service.
Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory in Beaumont.
Mr. Collins was born January 15, 1928 in Port Arthur to I.C. and Della Mae Melder Collins. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was later a T&I supervisor at Texaco. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bridge City and loved to fish. Bill was a loving father and grandfather and a wonderful friend to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, I.C. Collins.
Those left to cherish his memory, is his loving wife of 62 years, JoAnn Collins; son, Gary Collins and wife Jan of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Linda Nies and husband, Mark of Bridge City and grandchildren, Eric Nies, Aaron Nies, Matthew Nies and Christopher Collins. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Hamilton and brother, Donald Collins and wife Sue both of Bridge City.
