William H. “Bill” Manuel, Sr., 79, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 22, 2018, in Port Arthur, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor John Fortenberry, of Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville, Texas. Burial will follow the service at Wilkinson Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Lemonville, Texas, on September 5, 1938, Bill was the son of Carl Henry Manuel and Violet (Myers) Manuel. He worked as a Mechanic Supervisor for Sabine River Authority as well as working for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bill loved to spend time outdoors as well as taking care of his son, Robbie. He enjoyed joking and making people laugh. Bill always had a smile on his face and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Juanita C. Manuel; his parents, Carl and Violet Manuel; and his grandson, Cole Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his step-mother, Charlotte Manuel; children, Sharron Wood and husband Monty, of Mauriceville, Sherry David and husband Neil, of Groves, William H. Manuel, II, of Mauriceville, and Garry “Robbie” Manuel, of Mauriceville; grandchildren, C.J. Johnson, Megan Borel, Daniel Wood, Kayla Manuel, and Lyndie Manuel; great-grandchildren, Coy Johnson, Jr., David Johnson, Carson Borel, and Brydon Borel; along with his siblings, Marie Canwell and Jimmy Manuel.
Serving as pallbearers will be C.J. Johnson, Coy Johnson, Jr., Fred Newman, Ronnie Dial, Scott Zelner, and William Posey.
