Funeral services for William T. White, 86, of Sour Lake will be held on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.at the First Baptist Church of Sour Lake with Reverend Ken Ellzey and Dr. Duane Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake. Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 5-8:00 p.m at the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont
Mr. White was born May 3, 1923 in Sour Lake, Texas and passed away July 10, 2009 in the Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A resident of Sour Lake since 1982, he was retired from the Gulf Pine Line Company as a pipeline inspection supervisor. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient. An active member of First Baptist Church of Sour Lake, he was a member of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class, a member of the Masonic Lodge 1002 of Sour Lake and a past Quartermaster of the Sour Lake VFW Post.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia White; one son, Clifford White and wife, Patricia; four step-children, Paula Pyles, Stephen Gale, Gordon Pyles and Linda Biggers; three grandchildren, Jennifer White, John T. White and Daniel White; and one great-grandchild, Jordan Haselden.
In addition to his parents, Grover Cleveland and Mona Shivers White, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Jo White; son, Edward Doyle White; brothers, Grover C. White, Jr., Thomas Doyle White, Ronald Shivers White; and sister, Geneva White Wyatt.
