William Victor Faver, Jr.

William Victor Faver, Jr., 93, of Beaumont, TX died on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1915, in Lake Charles, LA to Phinetta and William Victor Faver, Sr. Mr. Faver graduated from Lake Charles High School in 1932 and Lamar Junior College in 1939. He began employment with Gulf States Utilities now Entergy on July 26, 1934 and retired as customer accounting department manager on May 28, 1980.

From 1941 to 1945, Mr. Faver served overseas in the Army Air Corps during WWII, attaining the rank of Captain. Vic married Louise Lauderdale on March 21, 1943. Together, they raised three daughters.

Vic was a member of the Beaumont Founders Lions Club and was elected Lion of the Year in 1995-1996. He has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Beaumont since 1934, serving as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He also served on the Board of Trustees of Baptist Hospital for several years.

Mr. Faver is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Louise Lauderdale Faver, his daughters, Janet Sewell and husband, Ridge, of Beaumont; Gwen Crawford, of Katy, TX and Catherine Faver of McAllen, TX; grandchildren, Courtney Cole and husband, Jeremy, of Brenham, TX, Christin Johnson and husband, Paul, of Frisco, TX, Casey Baugh and husband, Michael, of Pasadena, TX, Kimberly Crawford, of Santa Barbara, CA, and Trenton Crawford, of Austin, TX. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Alexandra Cole, Meghan, Molly and Montgomery Johnson and Cole Baugh.

Mr. Faver was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harry Faver, sisters, Evelyn Lyons and Mildred Fanguy, and his son-in-law, John Crawford.

Funeral services for Mr. Faver will be held Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Chapel, Beaumont, with Reverend David Cross officiating and assisted by Reverend Larry Walker. The family will receive guests from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. in the church parlor prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Hegele, Charles Lauderdale III, Trenton Crawford, Jeremy Cole, Paul Johnson and Michael Baugh. The deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
