William Bill T. Nugent

William ?Bill? T. Nugent, 58, of Orangefield, died Thursday, February 17, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, after a 7 month battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Jim Hardwick of First Christian Church in Orangefield. Burial will follow at Wilkerson Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be 5:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home in Bridge City.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 25, 1952, Bill was the son of Hugo and Eunice Dorsey Nugent. He worked for DuPont for 35 years, was a lifelong member of the NRA, loved music and taught himself to play the guitar. Bill was a wonderful husband, loving father and a great ?Paw Paw Bill? to his granddaughter Lala

Preceded in death by his brother, Marcell Nugent, Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gayla Dunn Nugent; daughters, Sara Nugent Welch and her husband, Mike of Boerne, Amy L. Nugent of Orange; granddaughter, Layla Guidry and brothers, Victor Nugent and Richard Nugent; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Mike Welch, Daniel Nugent, Bruce Covington, James Dunn, John Dunn and Michael Richard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clyde Welch and the coworkers #3 shop at DuPont.

The family would like to thank Anita and Jerri at St. Mary Hospital, Dr. Karia and staff. They would also like to thank Kai at St. Elizabeth Hospital, the Cancer Center of Southeast Texas, and the love and support of friends and families.
