As fate would have it, I was once again in Orange, TX from mid 2004 - 2006. I visited the Tillman's several times while I was there, being disturbed over my life and needing to talk to people I knew who could help me. Bill and Joanne were very kind, Bill helped me in my local job search and even wrote a recommendation letter for me. Joanne spent long hours with me, just talking. This was a very healing time, I think for both Joanne and me. He sat with me many times over many days, teaching me one of his seminars for free and would hear nothing of taking any money for it. During my last days there, I found out in a very difficult way that Joanne had passed some weeks earlier, and I never even knew about it. I called Bill right away, but one of my great regrets in life is that I was not able, despite trying pretty hard, to bring Bill and my parents back in contact again. For whatever reason, it just didn't happen. We were unaware of Bill's death until recently. But we all miss both of them, and wish the very best to all the Tillman family. I wanted you to know how wonderful your parents had been to me during those two years I was back home, and how grateful I am for the much-needed connection they made with me. They helped me tremendously - and they wanted to do it. Best, Lydia

I will always remember Bill standing next to the transparency projector and a two-foot stack of transparencies, sharing his wisdom with attendees of his Process Plant Startup seminar - explaining the real world to them, as only Bill could! I attended with each of my three project teams and credit him with much of the success of all three projects. He is a legend in the petrochemical project world.
