Willie “Bill” Rae Stracener, 91, of Orange, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2019, at her residence surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Bret Cooley. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Born in Dry Creek, Louisiana, on November 21, 1927, she was the daughter of Frank Green and Mae (Simmons) Green. Bill worked as a bookkeeper for Howards Grocery in Bridge City for over 17 years. She was known for being the backbone of her family as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Winfree Baptist Church in Orange. She had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers and gardening in her spare time. Bill loved her family and loved to make sure they were well taken care of. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mae; her loving husband, James Leon Stracener; daughter, Glenda Jean Sands; granddaughter, Sissy Reiher; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Bill is survived by her children, Dianne Winn and husband John, of Orange, Hercel Stracener and wife Pat, of Orange, Karen Taylor and husband Dalton, of Kirbyville, and James Stracener and wife Pixie, of College Station; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Stracener, Marcus Garvin, Aven Lathrop, Payton Lathrop, Brennan Gamble, and Jim Brumley.
