Born in Smackover, Arkansas, on July 7, 1958, he was the son of Sie Boone and Helen Calloway Boone. Willie graduated from Lutcher Stark High School class of 1977 and went on to work at J.M. Huber for 20 years. He also served as a licensed minister at Full Gospel Holy Temple for a number of years and was known for fiery messages behind the pulpit and street services. He never met a stranger and loved every moment that he was able to teach others about the Lord’s love and faithfully serve Him. Willie found joy working in his yard and painting. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and his loved ones can find peace knowing that he has now made a touchdown in Heaven. Willie’s family lovingly remembers a saying he would utter often, “If the Lord can’t do it, it just can’t be done.” He will be deeply missed by all those who grew to know and love him over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sie and Helen Boone; and siblings, Georgia Gans and Scotty Boone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Peggie Boone; children, Corey Byrd and wife Naddie of Houston, Lewis Anthony Payne of Orange, Tiffany Turner of Orange, Antonio D’Marcus Boone of Dallas, and Willie Boone, Jr. and wife Sarah of Orange; his siblings, Nathan Ray Boone and wife Beatrice, Anthony Boone, Ethele Herbert, Mary Chargois and husband Mike, Elcie Dean Boone, Fannie Boone, Elaine Boone; his special aunt, Betty Calloway; his God daughters, Kayla Offord and Kasheta McDonald, both of Orange; along with 5 grandchildren.
