Willie "Buck" Elmore, 89, of Orange, died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Leo Anderson of First Apostolic Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Jett Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Born in Orange, Texas on November 3, 1921, Buck was the son of Will and Sadie Mae McCarver Elmore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and during his early working years, Buck worked for Lutcher & Moore Lumber Co. and later, worked as a watchman for Harding & Lawler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Josie Elmore Floyd, Mary Elizabeth Elmore Duhon and Fleta Mae Elmore Reese; and nephews, Willie Joe Reese and Butch Floyd.
Buck is survived by his nieces, Ethel Lee Manasco of Orange, Mickey Chance of Buna, Betty Jo Reese of Orange and Carolyn Hankins of Orange; nephew, Berl Reese of Orange; several great nieces and nephews; and great great nieces and nephews.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Dennis Hankins, Wilbur Duhon, Dan Anderson, Jimmy Holland, Doug Anderson and Roger Garrie.
