Wilson Perry, 89, of Orange, passed away on February 9, 2015, at Southeast War Veterans Home in Reserve, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be 10:00am, Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend David Turner of Little Cypress Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn in West Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday, February 11th at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Crowley, Louisiana, on October 26, 1925, he was the son of Eli Perry and Olive Abshire Perry. Wilson served in the U.S Army during WWII and the Korean War. He worked as a carpenter and was an avid LSU fan. He was also a member of Little Cypress Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Wilson is preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Olive Perry; sisters, Virgie Perry and Euvera Eldridge; brothers, Alfred Perry, Wilbur Perry, Mayo Perry, and Garlan Perry; sisters-in-law, Theda Perry, Lois Perry, Juanita Perry and Janice Jones; and brothers-in-law, J.T. Parker and Fred Eldridge.
He is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Jessie Perry; son, Boyd Perry and wife, Beth; grandchildren, Angela Balsam and husband, Toby and Andrew Perry; great-grandchildren, Carly Beth Balsam, Lexi Balsam, Camille Balsam, and Rylan Perry.
Wilson is also survived by his brothers, Leo Perry and wife, Laverne, Alvin Perry and wife, Peggy, John Perry and wife, Mary, and Matthew Perry and wife, Debbie; sister, Beatrice Powell and husband, Lewis; and his sisters-in-law, Vera Perry and Velma Parker.
Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Perry, Bruce Perry, Robert Stalnacker, Collen Jones, Jeff Jones, and Dickie Perry. Honorary pallbearer is Langston Fredrick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Cypress Baptist Church Phase II Building Fund at 3274 Little Cypress Dr. Orange, TX 77632.
