Wilton W. Cox

Wilton Weaver Cox, 96 was born November 27, 1915 in Nacogdoches, TX to Will Randolph and Josephine Weaver Cox and passed away May 6, 2012 in Wildwood, TX surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Cox was retired from Gulf Oil Company where he was a maintenance superintendent, having worked locally as well as eight years in Kuwait. He started the marching band for Vidor High School and directed them for four years. Wilton was a long time resident of Wildwood, where he loved to play golf and was a faithful member of Wildwood United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Wildwood Methodist Church officiated by Reverend David Foster and Reverend Eldon Reed. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Committal service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont.
Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rollins Cox; sons, Jerry Cox and wife, Marilyn, and Chuck R. Cox and wife, Debbie, of Kountze; daughter, Ruth E. Davenport and husband, George, of Cypress, TX; stepson, Fred Catrett of Austin; 5 grandchildren, Aaron Cox and wife, Laurie, Kimberly Mayfield and husband, Corey, Keith Cox, Jennifer Davenport and Scott Davenport and wife, Lauren; six great-grandchildren, Kolton, Beaux and Baylor Cox, Emma Cullen, and Riley and Cole Mayfield. Special recognition is given to the health care staff of Sadie Kiel, Rachel Wise and Arlene. Wilton was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Ingraham Cox, parents and sister, Dorothy Fortenberry.
In lieu of floral offerings, the family wishes that contributions be made to Wildwood United Methodist Church, 5943 FM 3063, Village Mills, TX 77663.
