Winona Mae Stark

1945 ∼ 2025

Winona Mae Gibson Stark, born September 14, 1945, in Orange, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025. A lifelong resident of Orange, she was deeply rooted in the community she loved and called home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Andrew Gibson and Vivian Winona Arledge Gibson, and her sister, Nan Andrea Gibson.

Winona is survived by her devoted husband, William Henry Stark III; her five beloved children, Stori Linn Stark Clement; William Henry Stark IV and his wife "Jenny Stark"; Andrew Hill Stark and his wife "Amanda Stark", Terri Elizabeth Stark; and Winona “Wendi” Stark Parkhurst and "Chris Parkhurst"; and her two loving sisters, Lynn Carole Wright and Lisa Ellen Richter.

She was “Nanae” to her 14 cherished grandchildren: Dane Richard Clement, Tucker Ray Clement, Tate Michael Clement, Colton Quaid Stark, Taylor Hill Stark, Logan Andrew Stark, Haleigh Mae Dietze, Allie Nicole Stark, Andrew Hill Stark II, William Corey Stark, Andrea Kristen Stark, Kacie Nikole Faul, Dylan Kyle Parkhurst, and Christopher Kade Parkhurst. She was also blessed to be Nanae to 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Winona lived a life rich in faith, family, and simple joys. She loved working in her garden, baking for her family, and searching for arrowheads and Indian artifacts, which she treasured along with her collections of pottery and antiques. She had a beautiful voice and a deep love for singing, often filling her home with music. Above all, she loved the Lord and never missed an opportunity to remind her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that He loved them too.

Her life was a testament to love, devotion, and faith, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness and strength that will be carried forward by all who knew and loved her.

“In His arms, you found eternal peace; in our hearts, your love forever lives.”

I loved spending time at Butch and Bill Stark’s house. We were always in the pool. Usually it was Wray Stark and Lin Stark Barras. We always loved it when Winona and the kids came. Such a sweet family!!! When we moved from Houston to Orange our house wasn’t ready yet. The Starks were kind enough to let our family live in their pool house until we could move in!!! I loved every member of the Stark family. I went to school with Rebel, Lin and Lutcher Stark. Loved them all. Such a sweet family!! Goodbye Winona! I know you’re at peace now🙏🙏🙏
