Winona Wiley Word, 66, of Orange, Texas, passed away on February 16, 2025, in Beaumont. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Paul CME Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Gary Chalk. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Paul CME Church in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas, on August 13, 1958, she was the daughter of Elbert Wiley, Sr. and Gladys Tims Wiley. Winona dedicated much of her life to her role as a scan coordinator at Albertson's, where she was known for her hardworking spirit and commitment to her job. Outside of her professional life, Winona was a person who embraced the joy of living. She had a deep passion for travel, which allowed her to explore new places and create cherished memories with those she loved. Winona had a remarkable ability to bring laughter and joy to those around her, frequently sharing jokes and stories that left her family and friends in stitches. Her warm spirit and infectious smile lit up any room. Winona held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, joyfully taking on the title of "Maw Maw," a name that embodies both love and nurturing. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting bonds through shared experiences and heartfelt connections. Winona will be remembered for her vibrant personality, unwavering love for her family, and the laughter she brought into their lives. Her legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to resonate with all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Elbert Wiley; her sisters, Olivia Wilson, and Alice Lee; and her brother, Elbert Wiley, Jr. 

She is survived by her sons, Donald Sibley, Jonathan Sibley, and Jason Sibley; her 8 grandchildren; her sister, Jeannie Woodson and husband, Taylor; her nieces and nephews, Cameshia Newell, Cassandra Wiley, April Brooks, Eddie Evans, Christopher Wiley, Derrick Wiley, Corey Marks, Elbert Wiley III, and Clifton Woodson; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
