Carl C. Jordan, Sr.
It is with great sadness that the family of Carl C. Jordan announces his passing on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the age of 89. He was fondly known as “Babe” to family and friends. Carl was born on February 27, 1931 to Sadie Doty Jordan and her husband, Wallace Payne Jordan in Yazoo City, MS. Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Ellen, his son, Dr Carey Jordan (Samia) and daughter Laurie Jordan Lester (Scott). Carl will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Bianca (Jordan), Camille, Carl (Allison), Ryan (Liz), Blake , and Meredith (Albert). He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Doty Jordan. A family memorial will take place at a later date. Carl graduated from Chamberlain Hunt Academy in Port Gibson, MS. After a brief time at The University of Southern Mississippi he later attended Louisiana State University where he earned a degree in business and there began a long professional career serving in many administrative positions. He was an LSU Tiger through and through. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from the USAF Reserve as a Lt. Colonel. He also worked at CJ Brown in Baton Rouge as a real estate agent. Carl’s greatest joy in life revolved around spending time with his family. His biggest achievement in this earthly life was leaving behind a family who loved and adored him. His family will always remember him by his loving and light hearted personality, his aptitude for never taking life too seriously, and his candid ability to make everyone laugh without trying. He will be dearly missed.
