Addis Jerald Harwell, known to many as A.J., has peacefully passed away at the age of 93.
A graveside service to honor and remember Addis Jerald Harwell will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, February 26, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont, Texas.
Born in Marshall, Texas on July 26, 1930, to James and Tennie Harwell, he was a hardworking individual whose dedication to his craft as an electrician left a lasting impact on those around him.
A.J. was more than just a skilled tradesman; he embodied qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Described as very simple yet incredibly kind-hearted, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. A.J.'s warm and welcoming nature meant that he never met a stranger but instead saw everyone as a potential friend. Outside of work, A.J. found solace in the simplicity of yard work and the joy of playing golf. In the hearts of those who knew him best, A.J.'s memory will forever remain as a beacon of kindness and generosity. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that his legacy of compassion lives on in the lives he has touched along his journey.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Harwell; and his parents James and Tennie Harwell
He is survived by his his children Sharon Franklin and husband Douglas, Frances Westbrook, James Harwell and wife Irma, along with seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and other loving family members.
