Bert Dionne, 89, passed away, February 13, 2009 in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel in Beaumont. Officiating will be Dr. James R. Fuller of Calder Baptist Church and Pastor Lee Wagliardo of Cathedral of the Pines. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Dionne was retired from Texaco, Inc., of Houston and Port Arthur, where he served for many years as a purchasing agent. He was a graduate of the University of Texas School of Business. He served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army and was stationed in New Caledonia and the Philippines. He was an avid photographer and member of several camera clubs in the area. He was a golf enthusiast and was an Eagle Scout.
For many years he owned a bookkeeping and tax service for small businesses.
Bert is survived by his wife, Mildred Dionne of Beaumont; son, Bert A. Dionne, Jr. and wife Wanda of Spring; step-daughter, Sharon Collins of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Brad Dionne and Jennifer Dionne Holden; three great grandchildren, Kierstyne Dionne and Devin and Dylan Holden; two sisters, Joyce Riley of Lumberton and Clara Manganice of Groves and brother, Avery Dionne of California.
