Betty Lou Hollingsworth, an Alabama native, married Wilton Dunaway in 1950 and they were happily married for 48 years. Early in their marriage, they were blessed with their first son, Neal, followed by Larry. Betty was an active member of her community, teaching Sunday School and running a small business. In the proceeding years, she enjoyed the arrival of grandchildren, traveling, always keeping an open home and heart to those she loved, and occasionally winning a game of dominoes. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Dunaway, and her furry companion, Yoda. She is survived by her brother, Rev. John Hollingsworth and wife Lucy; sons Neal Dunaway and Judy Brisendine of Beaumont, Larry Dunaway and wife Darla of Arlington; grandchildren Tiffani and husband Vinnie Szymkowiak, Jennifer and husband Tony Wade, Dallas Dunaway and Sabrina Davis, Natalie Dunaway, David and Tara Brisendine, Amber and Larry Guilbeau; great-grandchildren VJ, Lacey, Darlie, Wakely, Eileen, Zoe, Savannah, Tyce, and Izaiah; and all of the family dogs.
Whether you knew her as Betty Lou, Mom, Momma D, Granny, or GiGi, in Texas or Alabama, she will be lamented, remembered and celebrated.
