Bobbie (Coussou) Johnson, 79, of Lumberton, passed away on April 11, 2019, at Kountze Nursing Center in Kountze.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Monday, April 15, 2019, at Sabine Tabernacle in Beaumont. Officiating will be Reverend James Boykin. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Sunday, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on December 14, 1939, she was the daughter of John H. Coussou and Katie (Anthony) Simmons. Bobbie was a longtime member of Sabine Tabernacle and she loved her church. She enjoyed her weekly lunches with friends and family. She was a very artistic person and was gifted with the ability to both sketch and paint. She had a deep love for the beach but her greatest love were “her babies”. She was a wonderful aunt to all her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Johnson; sister, Betty Haynes; brothers, Collis Simmons and Casey Simmons.
She is survived by her sisters, Carol Williams and husband, Charles of Lumberton, Sandra Rao of Lumberton; and Alice Rachford of Vidor; brother, Cecil Simmons of Vidor; sister-in-law, Burnell Waters; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Waters, Johnny Haynes, Brian Austin, Allen Gibbs, Chris Gravis and Charles Williams, Jr.
