Curtis Mitch Menefee

Curtis Mitch Menefee was born on October 9, 1958, in Beaumont, Texas and passed away on January 25, 2017, at MD Anderson hospital with his wife and his parents at his side. He was raised in Nederland, Texas and attended and graduated from Nederland Independent School District. He worked at the Goodyear Chemical Plant in Beaumont for almost 40 years. He married Leticia S. Sabedra on July 16, 1982 they celebrated 34 memorable years together. He was blessed with two children a son, Jason Menefee and a daughter, Jordan Menefee.

For relaxation and recreation Mitch enjoyed the simpler things in life which included bird watching he started this completely by accident, he would find himself staring out the kitchen window waiting on Lettie and the kids to get ready each time they were going somewhere. It quickly became one of his favorite past times. Anyone that knew Mitch knows that spending time with his family at the beach soaking up the sun with a cold beer and a fishing pole was one of his favorite ways of making lasting memories. But the place he held dearest to his heart, the one that made him happiest, is his families old homestead lovingly referred to as "The Farm" it's the one place that could wash away any worries or troubling thoughts he may have been having, he loved spending time there making memories and sharing stories about it every chance he got especially with his Goodyear Family. The Farm provided more than just those beautiful memories built around family The Farm was his woodsy refuge it's the only place that gave him inner comfort no matter where he was or what he was going through.

He is survived by his devoted loving wife, Leticia S. Menefee; his son, Jason Menefee; his daughter, Jordan Menefee; 4 beautiful grandchildren, Taylor, Kayla, Karlea and Ashlyn Menefee; his devoted father, Curtis Menefee and caring mother, Patricia Menefee; one brother, Mark Menefee; his two nephews, Christopher Menefee and Patrick Menefee and his niece, Kaylee Menefee; along with many other cherished family and friends.
