She was married to her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Dwayne Buckley for 58 years. Dolores (aka Mom and Gia) had four children and four grandchildren. She was considered (by those who called her mom and Gia) the absolute best mom and grandmother that anyone could possibly have. Mom's life was dedicated to taking care of her children by showering them with love, keeping them fed and healthy and making sure they got where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there. We will never forget your love mom (or your cooking!). Gia absolutely spoiled her grandchildren and made sure they got what they wanted despite the instructions of their parents. She truly was the perfect grandmother! She also spent her time taking care of Dad and helping him keep up the old "farm house" in Hemphill and spent many hours helping him fix the numerous "old cars" he would bring home. She was the perfect match for dad because not only was she an excellent cook, she could also change the brake pads on a '39 Ford coupe.
Dolores was known for ALWAYS having a smile on her face and never complaining about anything even through tough times. Dad always called her his "tough little cookie", and she was. We can never remember a time when she didn't display a positive attitude and would always say "I'm fine" when asked how she was doing, even if she was ill. We loved her so very much and are going to miss her more than anyone can imagine. She leaves behind her daughter Vicki Dolores Bentley and her husband Joe of Cedar Hill, her son Terry Duane Buckley and his wife Keri, of Houston, her son Guy Michael Buckley of Beaumont, her grandchildren Duane Buckley, Christi Bentley, Brittany Buckley, Bryce Bentley and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dwayne, her parents Ambrose and Elsie Maonio, her precious baby daughter Dejuana Colleen and her sister Marie Ann "Reann" Melton.
