Etta Mae Boswell Craft

Etta Mae Boswell Craft, 104, of Orange, Texas died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at Sabine House in Orange.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at First Christian Church – Disciples of Christ in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Andy Pate and Reverend Chad D. Craft. Burial will follow at Jett Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Orange, Texas on December 27, 1905, Mrs. Craft was the daughter of Mary Josephine Pate and William Brinson Boswell. During World War II she worked as a senior hostess for the USO. She was a member of the Red Cross Motor Corp and was a lifelong member of First Christian Church, where she sang in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George David Craft, Sr.

Mrs. Craft is survived by her son, George David Craft, Jr. and wife Shirley Ann of Orange; daughter, Dana Lillian Craft of San Marcos; adopted daughter, Linda Kay Sharp of San Marcos; grandchildren, Naomi Hill and husband Colin of Kemah, Myra Lavergne of Beaumont, Myranda Craft of Orange, Heather D'Ann Stewart and husband Zed of Nursery, and Chad Douglas Craft and wife Michelle of Harrisburg, PA.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Duncan Augustus Stewart, Miabella Elizabeth Craft, and Dillon Hill; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other family.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church for the choir and youth at 611 North Ninth Street, Orange, Texas, 77630.
