J.W. "Fish Man" McCollough, 92, of Orange, died Thursday, January 27, 2011, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery near Kirbyville.
Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. McCollough was born in Fulton, Louisiana on November 11, 1918, and was the son of Doc and Cora Fish McCollough. He proudly served in the United States Army and in his younger days, coached Little League baseball.
Mr. McCollough was a machinist and pipefitter having worked at Levingston Shipbuilding Company and following his retirement, became a commercial fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Cora McCollough; his wife, Leona Shaw McCollough; son, Douglas McCollough; brothers, Elton, Ocie and Cilce McCollough; and grandsons, Jason, Joe and James McCollough.
Mr. McCollough is survived by his son, James "JD" McCollough of Deweyville; Daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Rick Wakefield of Orange; daughter, Patsy Shiyou Tynes of Deweyville; 9 grandchildren, Valton, Donna, Tammy, Tony, Alicia, Lorrie, Sherry, Shalinda and John; 22 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
