Marion Johnson Cox, 88, of Beaumont, passed away on August 22, 2021, in Winnie.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont. Officiating will be Reverend Bill Morgan. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2021, at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont.
Born in Hornbeck, Louisiana, on June 28, 1933, he was the son of Zebulon Cox and Minnie (Berry) Cox. Marion served his county proudly in the United States Army. He retired from Dupont in Beaumont where he was a supervisor for many years. Marion enjoyed spending his time gardening and landscaping. He was very artistically talented and had a knack for carpentry he built all kinds of furniture. Marion was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zebulon and Minnie Cox; children, Pam Fernon, Debra Polk; siblings, Lea Brown, Zelma Benson, Maggie Sandell, Green Cox, and Lucille Martin.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie Cox; daughter, Patricia Fertitta and husband Jerry, of Baton Rouge; sister, Lillie Skinner; grandchildren, Joey, Kim, Jake, Stephanie, Charissa, Matthew, CJ, Tara; and 13 great-grandchildren.
