Sampson Smith

Mr. Sampson Smith, Jr. passed away in Beaumont, Texas June 30, 2014 at the age of 64. He was born September 9, 1949 in Jasper, Texas to Sampson Smith, Sr. and Vietta Young and worked as a laborer in the shipyard at the Port of Orange, Texas.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, and both of his wives, Lillie (Chick) Johnson smith and Vallie Craven Smith.
He is survived by his son, Shawn T. Smith, Sr. and his wife, Doreen, of Beaumont; daughters, Alicia Smith and Christina Johnson Elia; grandchildren, Shawn T. Smith, Jr., Tanisha Smith, Shelicia Wilson, Shay Cole, Artavias Cole, Constance Elia, Justin Book, Angela Book, and Dakota Book; great-grandchildren, Heaven Johnson, Paris Ruffin, Brayden Beasley, Aubri Cole and Jayden Wilson; his brothers, Cemail Smith and his wife, Tessie, and Jimmy Lee Smith; two nephews, Johnny Smith and Domingo Smith and one niece, Alona Boykin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at North End Baptist Church, 5115 Eastex Fwy, Beaumont, TX 77706.
