William Cary Kelley

William Bill Cary Kelley, age 81 passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, March 2, 2010 with his family and friends at his side.
He was born June 27, 1928 in Beaumont, TX, Jefferson Co., to Inez Smith Kelley and Valentine Stanton Kelley.
Mr. Kelley's family and friends are comforted by knowing he is with His Lord and rejoicing with family that went before him. He became a Christian at an early age at North End Baptist Church, Beaumont and later became affiliated with a non-denominational Church in Houston, Tx.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Valentine Stanton Kelley and Inez Smith Kelley; brother, Charles Henry Kelley; nephew, Roy Gene Kelley; brother-in-law, Edward C. Worthy; grandparents, Mary Ella Redwine, George Alvis Kelley, Martha Estella Impson and John Wesley Smith.
Survivors include his brother, Stanton Troy Kelley of Beaumont and sister, Margie Marie Kelley Worthy Christopher and brother-in-law, Jerry Christopher of Lumberton. Nephews and nieces: Gayle Ann Kelley Russell and spouse, Steve of Beaumont, Stanton Troy Kelley, Jr. and spouse, Vikki of Lumberton, Judy Marie Kelley, of Beaumont, Albert Wesley Kelley, of Groves, Mary Elizabeth Kelley and fiancé, Jeremy Hubbard, of Vidor, Edward Clifton Worthy, Jr. and spouse Lisa of Lumberton. Great nephews
and nieces: Brandon Tunnell, of Beaumont, Melana Kelley of Lumberton, Cade and Leila Worthy of Lumberton. Step-nephews: Jeremy Russell of Beaumont and Jason Russell of Dalton, GA.
Mr. Kelley was an exceptional and very brilliant man in that he was born with a handicap, cerebral palsy. He attended Beaumont public schools: graduated in 1948 from French High School, Chenier's Business College and Port Arthur College where he majored in TV/Radio Repairs.
He was employed with KTRM Radio in 1949 and the 1950's and operated the KTRM transmitter station that was located off of Eleventh St. in Beaumont. After, leaving there he opened his own radio/TV repair shop operating out of his parents garage for many years. He owned the Wil Kell business selling quilting fabric thru mail orders. Mr. Kelley figured and prepared income taxes for family members.
His favorite hobby was studying his Bible and sharing the Word of God and his love for the Lord with everyone that he knew. He loved reading and spent hours at the Tyrell Public Library and Lamar University Library doing research work on a couple of books that he wrote.
Mr. Kelley always took pleasure and pride in telling everyone how he helped his mother with daily chores in caring for seven of his nephews and nieces and his grandmother after they came to stay with them. He helped his father with the outside chores as well.
Mr. Kelley was a loving, caring and devoted son, brother, and uncle as well as a friend to all he met. His devotion to his family encompassed prayer, hope, encouragement, sympathy and love.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all of his friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home, 1155 N. 11th Street, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., March 4, 2010 at the funeral home.
