Winfield "Wimp" Granger, 76, of Orangefield, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Bridge City. Officiating will be Mr. Bobby Granger of West Orange Christian Church. Burial will follow at Bland Cemetery in Orange.
Born in Orangefield on August 11, 1934, Mr. Granger was the son of Edna Tarter and Calvin Granger. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a process operator at DuPont for 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Sorter; and niece Leslie Sorter.
Mr. Granger is survived by his wife, Martha Granger; daughters, Tina Cowart and husband, Rex and Jerri Graffagnino and husband, Jude; and sons, Calvin Granger, Sr. and wife, Shelly and Harvey Granger and wife, Glenda all of Orangefield.
He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Calvin, Jr., Justin, Danielle, Jeremy, Ryan, Ethan, Brianna, Ashley, Hailey and Emily; one great-grandchild, Cylan Winfield; and sister, Laverne Vaughn and husband, Richard of Kirbyville.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Calvin Granger, Jr., Justin Granger, Jeremy Granger, Ryan Granger, Ethan Cowart and Jim Sorter. Honorary Pallbearer will be Pete Sorter.
